Zvezda wins seventh straight ANGT Belgrade title

The EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Qualifying Tournament Marko Ivkovic Belgrade has a familiar champion. In Sunday’s final, the host team U18 Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade held off its local rival U18 Mega Bemax Belgrade 74-61 to win its seventh straight tournament title, punching a ticket to the ANGT Finals which will be held during the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four in Istanbul, Turkey from May 18 to 21, 2017. Aleksa Uskokovic had 20 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds, while Vuk Djordjevic netted 21 points and Zoran Paunovic 15 for Zvezda, which joins three other qualifying tournament winners - U18 Zalgiris Kaunas, U18 FC Barcelona Lassa and U18 Real Madrid – in the ANGT Finals eight-team field. Uskokovic is the tournament MVP, and on All-Tournament team has been joined by his teammate Paunovic, Mega’s center Goga Bitadze and forward Nikola Miskovic, as well as Amit Ebo of U18 Maccabi Teddy Tel Aviv.

Earlier on Sunday, U18 Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg beat U18 Spars Ziraat Bank Sarajevo 82-59 to win third place, U18 Stellazzurra Basketball Academy took fifth place after 78-69 win over U18 Great Basketball Academy Prague, while U18 Maccabi Teddy Tel Aviv beat U18 Partizan NIS Belgrade 73-81 in a clash for seventh place.
